To everybody who is wondering about other herbs that you like and if you could make tea out of them - the answer is: Yes, you can make tea with probably any kind of edible herb.

Use these directions and if the taste happens to be too strong, dilute it further with more water - or use smaller quantity of your chosen herb next time.

I prefer my tea without anything but some people sweeten their herbal teas with honey (my choice would be agave syrup) and add a dash of lemon to enhance the taste.

If you are especially drawn to a certain kind of herb and the plain thought or aroma of it makes you feel good, there's a good chance that that particular plant contains something that would be very beneficial for you. Your body never lies - learn to listen again...

There's another secret to making the best herbal tea that not so many people know about.

You've probably heard about distilled water and how it's not meant to be drank on a daily basis because it could cause mineral depletion in one's body.

However, for making herbal teas, distilled water will bring out the most in the beneficial properties of the herbs.

Distillation process takes out of the water everything except volatile chemicals. As a result, distilled water acts "like a magnet" to attract minerals and other nutrients.

Enjoy your cup of herbal tea, it's supposed to be a treat! :)

I will have to experiment. I will admit I was disappointed with ginger tea as it tasted like flat ginger ale to me! I had to get used to that.

I've never tried to make herbal tea - but you've inspired me to try. In my new healthy lifestyle I need to learn to try these kinds of things!

My wife and I drink herbal tea and we also like green tea with a dash of honey in it. Being British though we tend to drink more black tea than anything else.

I use distilled water for my coffee and my tea. I knew there was a reason for it ;)

I love all kinds of herbal tea and other teas. I think my favorite tea is Hojika (toasted green tea). But herbal tea with cloves, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and orange peel is very invigorating! Yum-

If course be aware of the effects of the herbs you take. Some traditional tea herbs have strong enough effects that they need to be used carefully.

I am very fond of rosemary tea and orange petal. And also just adding aromatic herbs to bathwater.

I tried tea made from a team bloom (the teapot that blooms flowers when it steeps). I was surprised at how mild the herbs were.

I go in and out with any type of tea, though I do realize the benefits of drinking it. I'm a coffee drinker, though my dad keeps trying to persuade me to try any number of herbal teas. I find them too weak (and he expects me to use the "decaf" ones to boot LOL!). You do have me re-thinking things though, I'm sure my body is craving something besides the caffeine... now to just figure out what it is :)

Thanks for this post. I love herbal teas. I generally sweeten with honey. I had forgotten about using distilled water. I drink more teas in the winter. Perfect timing.
