Beautiful skies

Many times I feel So fortunate to live where I live, to be able to admire beautiful trees, native plants and potted beauties all around my home and through every window, even when I'm sitting at my desk and typing these words.

From that same place I can also watch all the stunning sunsets. They make me stop for a moment and breathe-in all the stunning colors that seem to come in different shades and intensities day after day.

And when I go out, I look at the beautiful skies, ever changing in appearance - and even though the color of the sky is also never the same as it was a few minutes ago, it never ceases to be the most perfect background for all the trees, no matter what time of the day it is, no matter what season it is.

It seems to me that I am very easily fascinated not only by the plants, but also by the beautiful skies and beautiful sky images.

Lightning thunder storms

For the last few weeks Florida skies have been mostly cloudy, we had lots of rain and thunder storms and lightning. Our grass hardly ever gets a chance to dry out enough so we can mow our lawn.

While all of my plants enjoy the moisture and heat (weeds included) and my banana trees grow faster than ever before (a new leaf every week!), the time to enjoy outdoors is pretty short: early morning and early evening only. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes have the same time scheduled to get around and get something to eat... ;)

Back to lightning thunder storms. There is an excellent post about lightning strikes, with many outstanding images and fascinating lightning facts at: Lightning Strikes Photos.

Enjoy your day, no matter what the weather looks like!

Full moon photographs

Here are two beautiful photos of night Florida skies, taken by photographer Nick Dudish from Brooksville, Florida. Descriptions of full moon photographs are also his. Enjoy!! :)

"Full Moon was a challenge as I wanted to take it exactly when it turned full."

"The Lunar Eclipse on Feb. 20, 2008 was just stunning. It happens so rarely. I used an 80mm telescope on this one."
