"This was taken during a zoological excursion to study the marine ecosystem at Vizaag and there in the harbour I came across this scenario where few boys are bathing carelessly in the murky waters and the water was polluted beyond imagination.

We have to make these people aware and let them know the minimum standards of life, we have a duty to make them aware about what they think normal in their daily life is far below the standards.

These boys taught about the consequences of water pollution can stop this.God give me the powers to do something for them."

The list of 'cancer causing' products is cr@p to me. I think people are saying ANYTHING causes cancer, by the time they finish with the list people wont be able to use anything, from eating to washing, because everything will 'cause' it. Doesnt matter what we do people will get cancer, so we jsut have to deal with it as it come. The boys bathing in that water, thats just gross.

Interesting list, but I didn't see where they got their information concerning the unlabeled toxic ingredients.

You're right, MorgansMummy, most of these kinds of posts are written with a purpose to scare and persuade readers into purchasing something.

However, I decided a while ago to use these kind of info that comes my way - in another way.

I choose to support business (buy products and services from those) who actually care about their clients.

And using toxic ingredients in order to make bigger profits could hardly be marked as "being caring" - in my opinion.

I agree - most everything "causes cancer" these days. I just try and eat the most natural things I can, and use the least amount of chemicals around my body and my house as possible.

Milk? Milk? Hotdogs I understand so I guess I will have to be more careful.

There's some crazy stuff in there .. MILK?

The only exception I have to your list is the "whole milk". Milk from "sweat shop" dairy farms is not good. Organic, grass fed does not have the same hazards.

Yes, there are many things that cause cancer and other problems. All cosmetics including nail polish contain THOUSANDS of ingredients including known carcinogens. It's NOT the law to list them. I have sold Natural Cosmetics in my career and know for a fact this exists. People are not informed, thus continue to demand lipstick that stays on all day, while swimming, excercising, eating...etc.. How do you think that works? Its not natural to have lipstick stay on. Natural lipsticks must be reapplied after these types of activities.
Yes, manufacturers put known carcinogens in products. They will continue to do so to make profits and sell to people. Until more people learn about this and choose different products, it will not end. Unfortunate news, but factual.

Hot topic for me since my background has been in consumer products. Any food that is processed on the shelf of a grocery store that isn't organic has ingredients you don't want to eat. Certainly they don't all cause cancer, but they are not good for you.
Milk is a HUGE issue. Factory Farms deserve an article itself. Almost 70% of American cows have mastitis...that is an infection. It's horrible for the cows...and for people who consume it. Hormones to increase an abnormal amount of milk that causes the cow to be sick it's entire life produces unhealthy milk. As stated above organic milk, grass fed cows NOT given hormones is a different story. Nitrates in processed meats--- just google this stuff. Tons of scientific studies and information.
Cancer doesn't effect 1 of 3 people for no reason--- things have changed over the last 50 years in the food/consumer products industry. Best to have as much knowledge as possible.

It does seem like everything causes cancer. I saw a few things on the list that I use.

Excellent information. I agree with both you and Maureen. Time for the public to get more knowledge in this area. We don't want to think it, but some of the biggest and best know brands we buy are toxic, at least to some degree. If they told us upfront, well their sales would go in the toilet.

Well, I don't consume any of the products on the list but I don't think that will prevent me from getting cancer.

There are so many other contributing factors as well that these few products seem rather inane and harmless in my opinion.

You either get cancer or you don't. I think it's ridiculous that they can name all these things that cause it, yet can't come up with a cure.

that's such an interesting list. luckily, i don't use any of the products on that list, though my husband eats hot dogs at times. i don't even think saying they cause cancer, which is hard to believe, would stop him. :)

Wow!! That is a great list and we are checking to make sure we don't have any of those in our house! Thanks for the great post! We all need to watch what we eat and what we do to the environment!

I know people who have lived healthy lives by eating good food, exercising, taking vitamins, etc. and still gotten cancer. Some died.

Wow...the whole milk really unexpected. I mean we've been told milk does our body good. Who would have thought it can cause cancer...
